Employee Spotlight: Meet Susan
Role: RN Clinical Manager

At Seaside Home Health Care, our employees are the heart of everything we do. Their compassion, dedication, and commitment to quality care make a meaningful difference in the lives of the patients and families we serve. In this employee spotlight, we’re excited to introduce Susan, our RN Clinical Manager, and share more about her role, journey into senior care, and what makes them such a valued member of the Seaside team.

What is your role and what does a typical day look like for you?

I interact with staff including nurses, schedulers, community liaison, directors, patients and their families, providers, and their staff. I troubleshoot any concerns related to care or staff. I reach out to providers to obtain visit notes and to update as needed on clients’ issues. I spend a lot of my day communicating with discharge planners, doctor’s offices and our team.

What got you started in a senior care career?

Being in nursing for a long time,  I enjoy working with the senior population in their homes as opposed to facilities. I enjoy the interaction as they have wisdom and guidance to offer and share. I enjoy the positive outcomes from working with the senior population that you don’t always get working with a younger population.

What brought you to Seaside Home Health Care?

When I worked for my previous job, I collaborated to manage care for mutual clients and got to know Joe and Marisa.  Seaside was only agency that prioritized keeping a client home, in safe environment, maintaining their dignity . Money wasn’t the bottom line. I strongly believe in their philosophy and mission so I was thrilled when an opportunity arose to work with them.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

There is so much that I enjoy, but the feeling I have from making a small difference in someone’s life is very important. Bringing a smile or making them laugh is very important to me.

What project or accomplishment are you the most proud of?

I don’t have a specific project of accomplishment, just knowing I was able to make a difference in someone’s life that kept them home and safe with dignity and respect is what’s important.

What skills are most important to your success?

Being able to work with a team that shares the same values, having a strong support system in place.

What do you like most about working at Seaside Home Health Care?

Truly, the team approach, everyone is treated with respect, dignity from the owners to the hands-on staff, including clients and their families.

How would you describe our team in 3 words?

Integrity, Dignity, and Respect!

What differentiates Seaside from other agencies?

The most important thing is keeping someone home in a safe environment with people who care. Money isn’t the bottom line or driving force.

What does success look like to you?

Knowing at the end of my day, I was able to make someone laugh or smile and forget their problems even for a moment.
