Employee Spotlight: Meet Patricia Martin aka Nurse Patti 🙂
Role: Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, RN

At Seaside Home Health Care, our employees are the heart of everything we do. Their compassion, dedication, and commitment to quality care make a meaningful difference in the lives of the patients and families we serve. In this employee spotlight, we’re excited to introduce Patti, our Certified Nurse Practitioner and RN, and share more about her role, journey into senior care, and what makes them such a valued member of the Seaside team.
What is your role and what does a typical day look like for you?
I am one of the nurses working at Seaside Home Health Care. My day begins with checking my work emails to see if there are any emergent issues or changes to my schedule. I speak with my manager and discuss my plans for the day. With my nursing bag on my shoulder and tablet in hand, I get into my car. I ask the Lord for my safety and away I go. After seeing my patients for the day, I return home to complete documentation and phone calls.
What got you started in a senior care career?
I had worked in the hospital for most of my nursing career and it was time for something different. Taking care of seniors was a nice change.
What brought you to Seaside Home Health Care?
I was out to dinner with one of my neighbors one night. I had mentioned to her that I was looking for a job. The neighbor said that she had a friend in health care and would share my information with her. Unbeknownst to my neighbor, the company was looking for a nurse at that time. I received a call from the director, and we set up an interview. I went for an interview and the rest is history. It was truly a God moment.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy being there at one’s time of need and being an intricate part of their improvement/recovery. Working at Seaside Home Health Care enables me to help the people and families of my community and neighboring communities.
What project or accomplishment are you the most proud of?
I am proud of recently becoming a certified nurse practitioner.
What skills are most important to your success?
Having good nursing assessment skills coupled with being an effective communicator are skills important to my success. As an effective communicator, I am a patient listener and can speak to my clients and their families about their conditions in a way that enables them to better understand their conditions and how to improve them.
How would you describe our team in 3 words?
The team is best described by the following three words caring, dedicated, and conscientious.
What differentiates Seaside from other agencies?
Seaside Home Health Care is a small agency that is not consumed with making as much money as possible but rather helping as many clients and families as possible.
What does success look like to you?
Success to me is working at something that is personally fulfilling, giving it 100%, and being recognized for the effort put forth.
