Role: LPN and Staff Coordinator
At Seaside Home Health Care, our employees are the heart of everything we do. Their compassion, dedication, and commitment to quality care make a meaningful difference in the lives of the patients and families we serve. In this employee spotlight, we’re excited to introduce Katrina Calhoun, our LPN and Staff Coordinator, and share more about her role, journey into senior care, and what makes her such a valued member of the Seaside team.

What is your role and what does a typical day look like for you?
My role at Seaside is to handle the schedule for our current patients. I do everything from make great matches, to act as a therapist for our seniors and care providers, and educate on the most correct ways to handle situations. Outside of work, I am at the gym, running kids to sports and being involved in church activities.
What got you started in a senior care career?
I have been in senior care for many years and in many ways. It started small when a friend of mine asked me to care for her client when she was going out of town. This one experience lead to over 25 years of loving and caring for the senior community, as a caregiver, HHA, and LPN. I have done this in homes, care facilities, and even for my own loved ones.
What brought you to Seaside Home Health Care?
Seaside Home Health Care’s mission and love for the aging population is a perfect match for me. It’s what drew me here and it is what kept me here.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love so many things about my job, but I think the best part is getting to interact with the clients, patients, and care providers. Even though it’s not always me doing the hands on work, it’s meaningful and I feel good about it!
What project or accomplishment are you the most proud of?
Technology is not my greatest strength, but in a previous role, I trained Home Health Aides and one thing I am super proud of is that I developed and maintained a Virtual Power Point presentation in which I taught a full day class to caregivers becoming Home Health Aides.
What skills are most important to your success?
The skills that are most important to my success are: having a caring heart. Its crucial that I listen to what our people need, help meet their needs, and provide compassion, quality and excellence in all ways.
What do you like most about working at Seaside Home Health Care?
We truly are passionate about making sure we do best by our patients, clients, and care providers. We follow-through and really do care.
How would you describe our team in 3 words?
Compassionate, High-Quality, and Skilled!
What differentiates Seaside from other agencies?
Being in senior care for all these years, I have seen so much. One thing that I know makes us different is how we really follow-through and make it personal and provide the best care for the clients and patients.
What does success look like to you?
Success means so much but I can lay my head down at night knowing that we are providing excellent care for people in their homes and we do it by making a high quality match!
