Employee Spotlight: Meet Marisa Miller

In this employee spotlight, we’re excited to introduce Marisa Miller, our Director of Development, and share more about her role, journey into senior care, and what makes her such a crucial member of the Seaside team.

What is your role and what does a typical day look like for you?

Each day, I lead a dedicated team in delivering compassionate care to seniors at home I oversee operations, support staff in the field and office, coordinate services, and ensure every patient receives the attention and quality of care they deserve.

What got you started in a senior care career?

My mom says that I’ve always been a natural caregiver. I helped her take care of my brothers when we were little, including changing their diapers. When my grandfather had heart surgery, I helped my grandmother care for him during recovery. I enjoy helping people and found a passion to help elderly people live their best life.

What brought you to Seaside Home Health Care?

I wanted to help seniors, like I helped my grandfather. Seaside was the right fit from the start. It felt like a family from day one and I wanted to be a part of what they were doing.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I love a lot of things, but mostly working alongside a talented, compassionate team that is making a difference in the lives of our local senior population

What project or accomplishment are you the most proud of?

Helping the team to get our accreditation for Home Health. It’s so exciting to be able to offer a full suite of services to seniors in their own home.  I’m really proud of our skilled staff. The services that we offer are top notch.

What skills are most important to your success?

In this industry, you need to be very flexible with your schedule and know how to prioritize. You can have a plan for your day, and then a patient’s condition changes and things need to be rearranged.

How would you describe our team in 3 words?

Caring, Supportive, Dedicated!

What differentiates Seaside from other agencies?

Our team is unmatched. We go above and beyond in every situation. Everyone is focused on working together to help our patients live their best life at home.

What does success look like to you?

Doing something that you love that is also important and meaningful.
